This is a quick run down on my experience upgrading from an HP Laserjet IIp and an HP Laserjet 4mp plus to a more recent HP Color Laserjet 2840. I have discovered that HP, in their infinite wisdom, has not only adopted the "smart chip" concept so prevalent in today's consumer printing industry, but they have taken it to the next level by making it more profitable than ever...no matter how unscrupulous and dubious that may be.
